Suõnn association
Suõnn ry is a Skolt Saami art collective founded in 2023.
Suõnn is Skolt Saami and means vein. The members of Suõnn are descendants of the Skolt Saami of Suõ’nnjel, or Suonikylä. The non-profit association Suõnn is based in Inari and Helsinki.
The purpose of the association is to promote indigenous creative industries and cultural cooperation and to support the preservation of indigenous cultures, languages and vitality through artistic and creative activities locally and globally. The association produces diverse projects and projects that implement the artistic, cultural or communicative aspirations of its members. The aim of the association is to create new, impressive, open-minded and high-quality Saami art for the indigenous art field.
